World Qualifiers

IT'S the most prestigious tournament on the 8-Ball Pool calendar and now you too can have a chance to compete in the final stages of the World Championships at Blackpool.
Indeed, as well as playing for a share of a £17,500 prize fund, if lady luck smiles, then you could progress to the televised stages of an event steeped in history and tradition.

The biggest World Championship qualifier of its kind gets underway later this month (May) and now is the time to sign up.


World Qualifiers 2012


A total of 26 clubs, from Cardiff to Croydon, Aberdeen to Brighton, are staging qualifiers, including 12 Rileys venues. One player from each venue is guaranteed to progress to Blackpool's Imperial Hotel and receive a minimum two free nights' accommodation.  
The first qualifying tournament takes place at Greens Sports Bar, Dumfries on May 13. The last qualifier goes ahead at Penrith's O'Neils Sports Lounge on June 5.

Depending on entry numbers some clubs may promote two players to the finals venue in June.
Entry costs just £20-00 with forms and cheques sent to: World Championship Pool Office, 20 South View, Bamford, Rochdale, Lancashire, OL 11 5HU.

NO EURO CRISIS IN DUBLIN

Economies may be in crisis across the continent but pool's stock couldn't be higher as the forthcoming European Championships are expected to prove.

In fact, this month's tournament at the Green Isle Hotel, Dublin (February 20-24) promises to be one of the largest ever staged.

More than 300 players will descend on the Irish capital, ensuring at least for a few days local businesses will benefit from a valuable injection of euro.     Read more...

EPA are looking forward to another challenging year again this year, with a lot of changes on the horizon. During the end of last year a lot of works been done on the EPA web site,a new Inter-County page showing this event in more detail. March sees the finals at VHP, followed by the Inter-League

Ireland
The Irish Pool Association season will soon be coming to an end with just three events remaining. It has so far being a great season on the international stage with our ladies team taking home the gold in the recent European Championships in Malta.

Scotland
It's with great pleasure that the SEPF can officially announce the formation of a new region. Region 5 of the SEPF will be H headed up by the Oban & District Pool League (160 players), the new region covers the West Coast and Islands.

Belgium
Congrats to RUSSELL BURGESS for winning the 4th BPA International Open, beating WAYNE SMITH in the final 8 - 7. Congrats also go to WALES A for winning Team Open 10 - 9 following a play-off after Final ended 8 all. In International match, Wales beat Belgium 3 times, but the final match was 10 - 8.

Channel Islands
In memory of our dear friend Stan Lester, there will be a new competition coming to the Channel Islands starting in February 2011. This competition will be run in Guernsey and Jersey and will begin as a round-robin competition in each island.
